2009 ICC Champions Trophy begins from 22nd September to 5th October, 2009in South Africa. Eight top teams participating in this high profile tournament has been divided into 2 groups Group A and Group B with 4 teams in each group. Top 2 teams from each groups will meet in the Semi-Finals of 2009 CT.

4 Million USD Prize Money for 2009 Champions Trophy in South Africa

ICC announced the prize money of 2009 Champions Trophy in South Africa from 22nd September to 5th October, 2009 with the increase by 4times to 4Million US$ (Rs.20 Crores).

Eight top teams will participate in this tournament without any qualifying round as 8 teams are divided into 2 groups with 4 teams each group and top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.

Two bitter rivals India and Pakistan are in same group along with defending champion Australia and West Indies. Other group comprises of South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and England.

13 day tournament will have 15 games and all matches will be played at Centurion and Wanderers.
